We stopped by spontaneously for lunch after a beach day and ate the best octopus we have had in Spain so far - it was buttery soft! We also had calamares and cheesecake. Absolutely delicious food and we are looking forward to come back for dinner.

The food itself was fantastic, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour in every dish. Each plate felt carefully crafted, using high-quality ingredients that elevated the experience beyond the ordinary. While it is true that El Barba is a little more expensive than many of the restaurants along the front, it delivers in every way. You are paying not just for a meal, but for a dining experience, exceptional service, atmosphere, and food that lingers in your memory long after you leave. Superb discovery in Altea, great seafood restaurant with plenty of fresh seafood Products. We have tried the cuttlefish algae red tuna paella that was amazing. Great wine list, many options to enjoy. Perfect cheesecake homemade and really friendly staff.

Really a great place to eat. We went 2 times during the same weekend. They are super nice in terms of service and the food is really delicious. They offer simple dishes but well prepared 😊 from the starter to the desert!

The first visit to El Barba. The food was fresh and well made. Home made potatoes and tender tasty meat. For starters we had a few different tapas. The portion’s size were good. The staff was friendly and quick. Very recommendable.

An innovate mix of traditional and modern Mediterranean cuisine. The owner was a seasoned fisherman known to many locals, he was friendly and obviously very passionate about the food he was serving. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh seafood with a contemporary twist!

We had a lovely paella here, my husband was in his element with the socarrat! Sorry we couldn't finish the five grains of rice that were left!

I loved everything about this place. The food was incredible, everything we tried was delicious - especially the paella - and presented elegantly on our plates. Everyone working there was friendly and cheerful and the owner is a very nice local man who you can tell has put a lot of love into making the place what it is. Seriously the best sea food restaurant in town!

Amazing fresh food, authentic and delicious. We couldnt stop ordering and every plate was a new highlight. Slightly pricey, but definitely worth it. Please drop by and treat yourself!

Great restaurant along the Costa brava. Great service and what a series of tasty dishes! Only flavorful dishes on displays. Menu of the day is around 14 euros and covers drinks and food. Clean and quaint terrace. Totally worth a stop during your journey at the beach!

If you want to avoid the tourist traps and try something genuine, local and very importantly tasty, this is your place. The chef and owner is there, eager to bring the best and a very pleasant person to talk to. So all in all, we are coming back (multiple times). :)
